Colorado vs Utah: Strip Club Laws Compared
7 key differences across 9 rules — alcohol, nudity, age limits, lap dances, and more.
Denver has detailed rules, but most of the state leaves it to local towns — wide variation.
Among the strictest in the US — alcohol is effectively banned in strip clubs, 600-ft buffers required.
Colorado — Visitor Take
Colorado's scene is mostly centered around Denver, which has a solid selection of clubs. Most serve alcohol but keep nudity to topless only. Full nudity clubs exist but won't serve alcohol. Denver's clubs are generally well-run and range from casual to upscale. You need to be 21 anywhere alcohol is served. Outside Denver, it gets sparse — smaller towns may have one local bar-style club or nothing at all.
Utah — Visitor Take
Utah is the wrong state for a strip club night. Clubs can't realistically serve alcohol under the state's liquor system, no physical contact is allowed between performers and patrons, and the overall experience is as restricted as it gets in the US. Salt Lake City has a couple of clubs but they're bare-bones. If you're in Utah for work or skiing and want this kind of night out, cross into Nevada — Las Vegas is only a few hours from SLC and is the polar opposite.
